E-Lecture - Adverbs and Adjective

Adverbs can modify adjective and other adverbs by adding a certain degree of intensity to the adjective.

Examples

  • The woman is quite pretty.
  • We will be slightly late in the evening.
  • The weather report is almost always right.

The adverb almost is modifying the adverb always, and they are both modifying right.

Adverbs can be used to describe another adverb.

  • Phillip sings rather enormously too loudly.
